Lynne Breyer

Lynne Breyer
Candidate Secretary
(Maricopa County)

Owner/Author/Ring leader of an anonymous website that continually bashes Republicans.

Much of what is printed on her website and what she funnels to the MCRC briefs is not accurate and totally biased.  It's been a shame to see so many things said about good people over the years that is flat out not factual but used with the intent to undermine, degrade and attempt to sabotage fellow Republicans.

Doesn't really want to run for this office.

Recently at an east valley candidate forum it's been reported that Lynne announced to the attendees that she really didn't want to run for this position.  So our question is, then why do it?  We want and need people who really would like to serve.

Using LD23 funds inappropriately?  You be the judge.

As a member of the LD23 Leadership Team, Lynne served as the (unelected) Secretary and Treasurer in 2014. These positions have full voting rights as officers on the LD executive board.  This board took it upon themselves to donate district money to various PACs. Spending this money was not approved by the PCs in the LD, nor were many, if any, of them aware that this took place.

While serving on the LD23 leadership team, $2,500 was given to "Better Leaders for Arizona."

• PAC was primarily used for supporting a candidate for Governor that
 Lynne also supported
• PAC was created to attempt to defeat our current Governor
• PAC was created in 2013
• To view this PAC:
Better Leaders for Arizona

Additionally, LD23 gave $3,000 to the "Arizona Project PC."  There's not a lot of information on this PAC but here's what we know:

• PAC created in 2011
• Only been 3 people associated with this group
• Lynne is one of the three
• To view this PAC:
Arizona Project PC

When PCs in LD23 learned that this money had been given to these groups they demanded an explanation.  The explanation shared with them should be deemed problematic at best. Below are some claims (in red) that were sent to PCs:

The Executive Board made the following contributions to well-researched and historically prudent PACs to simplify reporting procedures, rather than directly to candidates.

Those selected were carefully researched to be certain that their goals matched our goals, that there had been no campaign violations in their history

We question what "Well-researched and historically prudent" and "Carefully researched" mean?

Also, stated they wanted to make sure there had been no campaign violations in their history?

So when evaluating two of the PACs they funneled money through, questions certainly should be asked at how they arrived at their decisions? Based on when the PACs were created, the history (or better said the lack of history) and the connection to Lynne, it's questionable at best how they arrived at the decision they did.

Claim made:

and that they were run by trusted Republicans who also had no marks against them personally in their history and are active in Republican campaigns.

When we looked into this we found that the Chairman of the Better Leaders for Arizona PAC couldn't be found in a statewide search of Arizona registered voters. So it's hard to validate the claim that these PACs were "run by trusted Republicans" but we do know that this group spent $1,353,797.03 in opposition to Doug Ducey.

Another claim made:

...to simplify reporting procedures, rather than directly to candidates.

Donating directly to candidates through a Legislative District doesn't cause any difficulties with reporting procedures.  And in reality that is what the LDs are designed to do - support candidates - donate directly to candidates.

And finally:

Also as a non-profit, organizations are limited as to funds carried forward year after year.

This is NOT true.
